Welcome to the Port Lincoln Yoga Studio

Port Lincoln Yoga Studio is a beautiful, humble studio located in the heart of Port Lincoln. We offer a variety of yoga classes for all levels to the Port Lincoln community and surrounds. We welcome you – you will find our timetable here.

Our yoga teachers all have a common love and passion for yoga. We work together sharing a common space along with equipment, resources, knowledge and costs allowing us to offer yoga within our community at a price that is accessible to everyone. This has also eliminated competition for class participation within a small community and created a beautiful collaboration space to share yoga.

Over the years our collaboration has continued to grow and evolve. We are fortunate to offer a variety of yoga classes catering for all students. We are also involved within the community with events, schools and other programs. We provide a broad range of safe and supportive yoga classes to our community from skilled, trained practitioners.

We offer various classes  to cater for everyone from the beginner student to the more experienced. Our Yoga classes are $15/$13 Concession. Please aim to arrive 5-10 minutes early to class. All equipment is provided for your use. If you have any further questions or would like to book in for a class please contact your teacher, our phone numbers located on the timetable.

Our Yoga classes are held upstairs in the Studio Room at the Nautilus Arts Centre, with entry via Washington Street which is shared with Country Arts SA and the Green Room. Parking is also on Washington Street (please do not park in Nautilus Arts Centre driveway). Please contact for more information if required.

Please inform the teacher of any health issues, concerns or pregnancy before class begins.

We are also very grateful and proud to have brought some wonderful teachers in from around the globe, including Wendy Samek, Lucilla Hammond and Jacqueline Iles. We are so grateful to meet and learn with these wonderful women and sharing our love of Yoga with the community. We will continue to bring this into build these wonderful collaborations and linages.

We are proudly affiliated with the International Yoga Teachers Association (IYTA). The IYTA’s primary activity is to conduct yoga teacher training and an Association for yoga trained teachers in Australia and internationally. PLSY offers mentoring support through a variety of lineages including Tirumali Krishnamacharya and BKS Iyengar.

Yoga will revitalise you by strengthening, toning and flexing the body, while also calming the mind and developing the breath.

About Yoga

Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga refers to a set of physical exercises (known as asanas or postures), and sequences of asanas, designed to align your skin, muscles, and bones. The postures are also designed to open the many channels of the body—especially the main channel, the spine—so that energy can flow freely.

Hatha is translated as ha meaning “sun” and tha meaning “moon.” This refers to the balance of masculine aspects—active, hot, sun—and feminine aspects—receptive, cool, moon—within all of us. Hatha yoga is a path toward creating balance and uniting opposites. In our physical bodies we develop a balance of strength and flexibility and in our mind we create feelings of calm and quiet. We also learn to balance our effort and surrender in each pose.

Hatha yoga is a powerful tool for self-transformation. It asks us to bring our attention to our breath, which helps us to still the fluctuations of the mind and be more present in the unfolding of each moment.

Yoga provides a sense of physical and emotional well being, resulting in improved health, fitness, muscle tone and stamina. Emotionally, it brings peace of mind and an inner calm.
