My Yoga experience began in 2012 at a studio in northern QLD during travel years around Australia. After basing life in Port Lincoln, I was in search for a Teacher Training. Simon Borg-Oliver and Bianca Machliss are the co-directors of Yoga Synergy where I completed a YTT in 2018. Both Simon and Bianca are Australian Certified Physiotherapists and have been guided under BKS Iyengar, K. Pattabhi Jois, and TKV Desikachar. Simon has studied with Natanaga Zhander (Shandor Remete) for almost two decades and with Master Zhen Hua Yang.

I teach Hatha Yoga Synergy style, a fusion of Eastern Tradition and Western Science to accommodate the bodies of Western chair-based lifestyle. There are 5 elemental practices which are side by side with the seasons; Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether. The Yoga Synergy intention of which practice is performed is to stretch less, tense less, think less and breathe as naturally as possible so that we may avoid over stimulating our nerves, exhausting our muscles and mind, and hyperventilation. With active movement and resistance, mental perseverance and patience, the body gradually begins to balance in strength and flexibility. “General” class accessible for beginners and intermediate.

Studying Yoga Synergy has been fruitful and revolutionary not only for teaching and personal practice but is continuously adjusting my perception on life.  Yoga for me is like coming alive and a sense of returning home. My intention for teaching is to provide an opportunity for collective and ‘self’ evolution.
